The Talented Referees Youth Squad (TRYS) has been established to provide a structured development program for “Youth Referees”, our stars of the future, to learn and develop the skills needed to attain a State Level accreditation. The program is coordinated through NSW Touch Junior Panel, supported by the NSW Touch Referees Panel, and funded through the NSW Touch Association.

Since 2007 the TRYS program has been nurturing and developing refereeing talent within NSW Touch. Participants in the program receive coaching and support to assist them through the opportunities and pathways designed to ultimately achieve a Level 4 State Referee grading. Participants are required to commit to tournaments, training and other special events, while mentors are assigned to each participant to guide them through the journey and provide technical, leadership and sportsmanship skills.
