STRATEGIC PLAN 2026 - 2030
Our Game – Our Future
Unlocking the power of our game to unite communities through safe, social and meaningful Touch Football experiences.
Our Game – Our Future is the NSW Touch Football Strategic Plan for 2026–2030. It provides a clear roadmap for how NSWTF will work with Affiliates, Regions, volunteers, participants, coaches, referees, selectors, partners and the broader Touch Football community to grow, support and strengthen the game across New South Wales.
By 2030, NSWTF aims to be a clearer, more capable, and more trusted organisation – with stronger Affiliates, modern systems, clearer pathways and a game that is easier to access and harder to leave.
Our Purpose
To unlock the power of our game to unite communities through safe, social and meaningful Touch Football experiences.
Our 2030 Ambition
A trusted, modern and high-performing state body that helps the game grow, retain people and deliver clearer pathways.
What’s Most Important?
Our Game – Our Future is focused on three strategic priority areas:
Lead the Team
Strengthen NSWTF’s capability to lead the thriving future of Touch Football in NSW. This includes improving governance, building organisational capability, strengthening culture, growing commercial sustainability, improving digital systems and becoming clearer and more accountable in how we support the game.
Support Play
Support the NSW Touch Football community to enhance experiences, improve retention and grow the game. This includes supporting Affiliates, growing participation, strengthening events, improving facilities, supporting volunteers, building better data and making it easier for people to play, stay and contribute to Touch Football.
Drive On-Field Excellence
Enable players, coaches, referees and selectors to achieve their Touch Football performance dreams. This includes clearer pathways, stronger regional talent identification, Emerging Blues development, technical workforce development and sustained State of Origin success.
Measuring What Matters
Our Game – Our Future is not just a plan; it is a commitment to measurable improvement.
By 2030, NSWTF is aiming to achieve:
- 100,000 unique participants across NSW
- An annual participant churn rate below 25%
- 5% annual growth in NSWTF managed event participants
- 1,750 registered and active volunteers
- Stronger governance maturity and accountability
- Clearer pathways from grassroots through to elite performance
- Consistent overall State of Origin success
Progress will be supported through operational plans, scorecards and regular reporting, helping NSWTF stay accountable to its members, Affiliates, partners and the broader Touch Football community.
Working Smarter, Together
Our Game – Our Future is about building a stronger NSWTF, stronger Affiliates, better experiences and a game that continues to grow, connect and inspire communities across New South Wales. NSWTF will lead where it should, support where it can, and influence where it must — always in partnership with the people and communities who make Touch Football great.
