Youth Division Brief

In 2015 the Youth League has been added to the Vawdon Cup as was advised in 2014. All affiliates need to note that players will need to be aged from 14yrs to 17yrs to play in the Youth League. i.e. born between 1998 and 2001.

Youth Players will need to have turned 14 years before they participate. Important to note, for both Affiliates and participants that players wishing to participate in the Open age divisions in the 2015 Vawdon Cup will need to have turned 16 years before they participate.

Mixed Pilot Concept Removed

The Mixed Pilot that was trialled in 2014 is now removed and the division realigns itself with the Men’s and Women’s Divisions and Player Import Points System.

Rationale- While this removal has already been accepted by the Board the removal of the points system in 2014 only assisted in the participation of better players for the top three teams who looked to bring in many good players from other affiliates. The rule change did not have the desired effect of having people build teams across the entire division. By reverting to the previous set up those clubs who tried to take advantage will be faced with the situation whereby the points for players they poached will activate and 2014 will not count toward long term status.
