The New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) warmly welcomes Joel Begnell and Adam Fahim to its Board of Directors. Joel, appointed as Director Technical, and Adam, joining as Director, bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and deep-rooted passion for the sport. Both are well-known within the touch football landscape in NSW, and their unique skill sets promise to strengthen the NSWTA further.
Joel Begnell joins the board with a strong background as a company director in the sport, recreation, and hospitality sectors. He also operates a sports coaching business and has a notable background as a data analyst in the health industry. Joel’s involvement at both state and national levels of coaching is widely recognised, particularly his success in leading the Orange Touch Association’s junior programs. Recently, he has taken on the exciting challenge of revitalising the Penrith Touch Association’s women’s program. Joel is the first second-generation board member in NSWTA history, following in his father’s footsteps. Bruce Begnell served as NSWTA President from 1998 to 2000, and his mother, a former State Referee Director from 1986 to 1992.
Adam Fahim has a successful professional career and brings valuable experience in leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, relationship building, financial acumen, and communication. His extensive involvement in touch football includes representing NSW and Australia, and he has made a significant impact at the grassroots level. As President of the Parramatta Touch Association, Adam has firsthand experience with community touch football and is known for his dedication and commitment to the sport.
In addition to welcoming Joel and Adam, NSWTA is pleased to announce that Nicole Grose will continue as Director of Country, allowing her to build on the impactful work she has started in this area.
The NSWTA looks forward to Joel, Adam, and Nicole’s contributions to advancing the organization’s mission and fostering the continued growth and success of touch football across the state.
