It is with great sadness that the NSW Touch Football advise of the passing of Jack Liston.
Jack was a former NSW Captain, Flag Bearer and Australian representative and has been battling illness for the past few years.
Jack represented the NSW from 1990 when first selected in Mixed Seniors through the divisions up to the Men’s 50s.
His NSWTA records was;
1990 Mixed Seniors
1992 Men’s 35
1996, 97, 99 & 2001 Men’s 40
2004 Men’s 45
2006 Men’s 50.
He was also a stalwart of the Western Suburbs Magpies, as well as the old Region 8 and Sydney Mets.
Jack also represented Australia in the Men’s 40 Through both the 1997 and 1999 World Cups with 17 international caps.
While his medical condition has been all consuming for his family as well as Jack, he was able to spend an afternoon recently with the many friends in the Touch Football community for a catch up and a beer.
Jack was a great player, but more importantly to all whom he came in contact with Jack was a better person.
He will be sorely missed and on behalf of the Board, Staff and members of the NSWTA we offer our sincerest condolences to Belinda, Tahana & McKenna as well as Liam & Jesse.
