NSWTA Board Announcement: New Independent Director Appointment

The NSW Touch Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Moran as the new Independent Director of the Board, effective immediately. Lauren will be replacing Sharnie Ramunno, who has made a significant contribution to the Board over the past two years. We extend our sincere thanks to Sharnie for her dedicated service and the positive impact she has had during her tenure.

Lauren Moran brings a wealth of experience to her new role, with nearly 20 years in the financial sector as a stockbroker across Sydney, Hong Kong, and New York. Her expertise in dealing with listed companies and professional investors, including her recent role with an ethical fund manager, has given her a strong understanding of governance standards and stakeholder management. In addition to her professional career, Lauren is an active volunteer with several community organisations and has a deep passion for the sport of Touch Football.

Chair of the NSWTA Anthony Dudeck stated, “The board extend our gratitude to Sharnie for her outstanding contributions over the past two years. Sharnie has been an invaluable member, bringing her extensive expertise in financial services and her passion for touch football to each discussion and decision. While we will greatly miss her presence on the board, we sincerely thank her for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

“We are delighted to welcome Lauren Moran to the NSWTA Board as our new Independent Director. Lauren brings professional expertise in client relationship management, governance, and strategy development which aligns perfectly with our commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence.”

“Lauren’s deep connection to touch football makes her a fantastic fit for this role, previously serving on executive committees with UNSW and the Southern Rebels. Her leadership in sponsorship, marketing, and operational development, combined with her strategic vision and passion for inclusivity, will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen and expand the touch football community”.

Lauren’s journey with Touch Football began at the local park level, and her involvement quickly grew through the University Games, ultimately leading to international competition. While living overseas, she played an instrumental role in expanding the sport, particularly in Hong Kong.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of NSW and is well-equipped to contribute to the continued growth and success of the NSWTA.

We are excited to welcome Lauren Moran to the board and look forward to her contributions in her new role.
