Coaches are now running out of time to register for the Bridging and Elite Coaching Course set for Sydney with accreditation compulsory for the 2017 Vawdon Cup.
As the subject line suggests NSW Touch Football have adjusted the accreditation requirements for Coaches for the upcoming 2017 Vawdon Cup, particularly Coaches involved in the Men’s & Women’s Premier League. The same rules are also being implemented for the 2017 State Cup in the Open A Divisions of Men’s, Women’s & Mixed.
This accreditation will be compulsory for the 2017 Vawdon Cup (Premier Leagues) and State Cup (Open A-Men’s, Open A-Women’s & Open A-Mixed) and this has also been advertised in the NSWTA General Conditions of Entry.
The rationale in this decision to increase the accreditation requirement for NSWTA events is that we see the ongoing education of our high end coaches as essential for the betterment of the sport in our state. This obviously has great benefit at not only the Affiliate level but also the Regional and State too. We believe this update in accreditation will arm you with the best tools to take your coaching to the next level as well improve your knowledge on current trends.
With changes that have occurred within the coach education framework in recent years there are two definitive types of accreditation that require updating to Coach in the above categories. As such all existing Level 2 accredited Coaches (accredited prior to 2014) will need to only complete an Elite Bridging Course whilst all Talent accredited Coaches (2014 to now) will need to complete the Elite Full Course.

Elite Bridging Course Outline (Day 1 for Level 2 accredited)
- Participant Introduction 10 mins
- Module 1: Coaching Processes – Theory 90 mins
- Module 3-6: Skill Development – Update on new Elite Skills & Strategies 120 mins
- Module 7: Athletic Performance – Theory 60 mins
- Module 8: Coach Intervention and Game Analysis – Theory/Practical 40 mins
- Module 9: Elite Game Plan – Theory/Practical 60 mins
- Module 10: Athlete Development, Selection and Talent Identification – Theory 20 mins
TOTAL (inc breaks) 8 hours
To assist in this process there will be a number of courses conducted throughout NSW in 2017 with the first of these listed below;

- Module 3 &4: Skill Development – Movement, Ball, Rollball and Rucking – Practical 100 mins
- Module 5. Attack Skills and Strategies – Practical 100 mins
- Module 6: Defence Skills and Strategies – Practical 90 mins
Day 2
- Module 7: Athletic Performance – Theory 60 mins
- Module 8: Coach Intervention and Game Analysis – Theory/Practical 80 mins
- Module 9: Elite Game Plan – Theory/Practical 60 mins
- Module 10: Athlete Development, Selection and Talent Identification – Theory 40 mins
- Module 11: Mentoring – Theory 30 mins
- Module 12: Coach Professional – Theory 30 mins
- Module 12: Game Concepts and Strategies – Practical 100 mins
