The annual New South Wales Touch Association State Awards was held last weekend at the Bankstown Sports Club. These awards recognise excellence within all aspects of our sport and organisation. The NSWTA night of nights is positioned in the midst of our State Conference, a valuable opportunity for those in our sport to be recognised.
Phil Rainger from Taree Touch Association and the Northern Eagles was awarded the Rod Wise medal for Volunteer of the Year. Phil has worked tirelessly with the Taree Touch Association, the Northern Eagles and within the Referees Arm for many years. Phil has been a pillar for Referee Coaching and Development across the Northern Eagles Region, and the Rod Wise Medal is a well deserved honour for a man who gives his all to the sport.

Doyalson Dragons Mens Open were rewarded for their dominant year receiving the 2018/19 NSW Touch Football Team of the Year. Doylason Dragons Mens Open won the Country Championships, Vawdon Cup and State cup in the 2018/19 season. Coach Karley Banks was also rewarded for her efforts receiving Coach of the Year.
Ash Quinlan from Easts Roosters and Daniel Stone from Bankstown Sports were rewarded for their stellar year with Club, State and Country, receiving the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year respectively.
