AIR QUALITY DELAYS STATE CUP – UPDATE

Be advised that due to the current air quality conditions being experienced at the State Cup venue, games scheduled for Friday December 6, will be delayed by 1 hour. First games are now scheduled to commence at 9am.
Any alterations to playing conditions for today Friday December 6, 2019 will be advise closer to the rescheduled start time.

Playing conditions for Friday December 6 are as follows:

• Games will be played across 27 minutes; that is two 12minute halves with a 3 minute half time break.

• By playing halves, games will NOT be turnaround touch. Teams will play in the same direction and only change direction at half time.

• Timeslots will be on a 30min rotation. That is 9.00am, 9.30am, 10.00am etc

• The online draw for today is being currently adjusted to reflect the new time schedule.

• All participants will be alerted on the NSW Touch App as updates are made.

While conditions are predicated to ease later today, the revised playing conditions will remain in place for all matches today. The only alteration would be if conditions worsened to the point we believe we need to further adjust the playing time.

We would like to again remind all that your participant’s health should take priority. The decision to play will be left to the individual. If a participant is asthmatic, they need to ensure that they have all medications with them – preventers and relievers.

Importantly ensure that your Affiliate has designated a reporting officer for the event (Likely your medical personal or if not – then a club official). Should any of your participants present symptoms, the information via the form should be immediately recorded to give us real-time data to allow us to monitor the conditions.

We remind all participants with chronic health problems, particularly respiratory and cardiac, need to consider the risks of playing in a smoke-filled environment. The NSWTA encourages all players, and their families, to consider the health risks associated with exercising in a smoke-filled environment. If anyone is participating and starts getting symptoms, they should be brought off the field immediately and given medical attention.
