It was always going to be a State Cup like never before. With the on-going bushfire situation on the North Coast of NSW, the staff was well prepared knowing that extra care would be needed over the 3-day event.
From delayed games, low air quality and dust storms came upsets, triumphs, and surprises galore.

The boys are back in town. Hornsby Men’s with the likes of Hennessey, Hayward and the Kennedy brothers showed that they still had what it takes to win a State Cup. With Bankstown Sports coming off a Vawdon Cup win they were not going to hand the game to Hornsby easy. Bankstown up against a team that had 7 internationals currently playing or played for Australia but gallant in defeated were Bankstown playing in their first State Cup final.
Manly had the fire in the belly
Manly Sea Eagles knew what they wanted, they showed how much. Manly taking the early lead but 40 seconds later NSW Player of the Year Ash Quinlin scores of an early sweep. Within minutes a game of anything you can do i can do better was well underway and within minutes the game was tied 4-4. With 20 seconds left in the game Manly score in the corner taking the win 5-4 after a touch 12 months.
The Mixed Master does it again
With the crowd behind them, Port Makos gave them something to cheer about with a simple try within the first 2 minutes. Red hot favorites Easts Roosters came back in the next set with Kirsty Wakely scoring to even the score.
