Census night is August 9, and right now the Australian Bureau of Statistics is looking for dedicated and motivated people to fill 8,850 part-time Field Officer positions across every part of NSW.
These jobs are a great way to contribute to your community. The data you’ll help collect supports planning, policy and funding decisions for a range of local services and infrastructure – from housing and transport to health and education.
NSW Touch Football supports the Census because in urban and regional NSW, local clubs rely on Census data to understand their communities and win funding for local projects, such as new sporting grounds.
Field Officers will visit households to ensure everyone can make the count. They’ll also earn around $21 an hour, receive motor vehicle allowances and enjoy flexible working hours for up to 3 months.
To be considered for the position, you’ll need to be a good communicator, willing to travel and work independently and comfortable using a computer, tablet or mobile device.
