At the 2023 NSW Touch Association (NSWTA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 10 February 2024, the position of Interested Director (Country) remained unfilled, creating a casual vacancy.
In accordance with clause 27.3 (a) of the New South Wales Touch Association Constitution (NSWTA Constitution), the NSWTA Board of Directors (NSWTA Board) holds the authority to appoint a suitably qualified member to this position. The appointed member will serve until the next AGM, at which point the position will be open for election by the membership.
At a recent NSWTA Board meeting, it was decided to invite expressions of interest from qualified NSWTA members who are committed to the growth and prosperity of the NSWTA. Eligible members are encouraged to apply for the role.
In accordance with clause 24.2 of the NSWTA Constitution and in consideration of the current gender composition of the NSWTA Board, this opportunity is exclusively available to female members.
Consistent with clause 25.1 of the NSWTA Constitution, the NSWTA Board has determined that the following specific criteria be met for the Interested Director (Country) role.
- A member of the NSWTA.
- Must reside within and be a member of an Affiliate within either the West South West Suns, Hunter Western Hornets, Northern Eagles and Southern Rebels Affiliates located outside the Sydney metropolitan area.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated strategic plan development and management experience.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of Governance practices.
- Demonstrated business skills and practices.
- Demonstrated financial acumen.
- Maintain high ethical standards for the betterment of the game.
For transparency, the NSWTA Board may also approach potential candidates who are deemed suitable for the role.
