Are you awesome at helping others achieve their goals? Then we want you to join our team as an Event Ambassador. Our Ambassadors are our MVPs (Most Valuable Players) because they are the driving force behind our team on event days. The 2017 Junior State Cup Event Ambassadors are being recruited for Friday 17th, Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th of February in Port Macquarie.
The NSW Junior State Cup is the premier competition for NSW Touch Football clubs across the state in an excellent competition for the states most talented junior players, coaches, referees and administrators.
Following on from the success of the 2016 event with a crowd of 18000 people in attendance, we’re going to need your help again. So, if you’re not planning on participating, why not volunteer as an Event Ambassador? It’s another terrific way to get involved without missing out on all the fun!
Volunteers are extremely important and are an integral part to any sporting competition or tournament. There is no way this massive event could be staged without the involvement of volunteers.

What do each of the Volunteer areas do?
-Each area will require volunteers for different times of the day and for different length shifts.
-The Hub Admin – is where the athletes, coaches and spectators come to ask questions and respond to various requests across the whole event.
-The Hub Results – is where the athletes, coaches and spectators come and view results after their games and check on progress throughout the event.
-Street Crew – Volunteers in this area will assist with the Traffic and Bus service including the safety and directing of Athletes, coaches and spectators through pre-during and post event.
-Ground Marshals are required to guide the athletes, Coaching Staff and Spectators around the precinct and ensure that all do so in a safe and friendly manner. Ages have spanned up to people in their 70’s, so you are never too old to volunteer, as long as you have the right attitude and want to help out.
University/TAFE Students
Are you currently studying and need to complete a volunteer hours or practical experience? Volunteering for the 2017 Junior State Cup is a great opportunity for you!
In just one weekend you can knock off plenty of your required hours whilst experiencing one of the biggest sporting events in the state. Add it to your CV and this could also help you in finding future employment.
Event Ambassador FAQ’s
I’ve heard that groups are able to volunteer and receive a donation. Is this true and how much is the donation?
Any not-for-profit group such as a sporting, charity, church group etc are able to apply to volunteer and will receive a donation in return. The donation will vary depending on where the group volunteers & how many hours is spent volunteering. Volunteers may not necessarily be together in a group, but be spread over the precinct where required.

Is there an age restriction on some volunteer roles?
Yes there is with 16 being the youngest accepted as an Event Ambassador role.

I am doing a university course that involves a practical portion. Am I able to use this volunteering count towards my course?
You will receive and Certification of Appreciation and if applicable a letter can be written for you from NSW Touch Football to validate the volunteering hours that you have performed.
I want to work in an area that is not listed on the website for volunteering. How can I help?
Areas listed online are those that have been requested at this time. There may be other areas that we may need your assistance. When registering, enter any questions or special requirements for areas you want to volunteer in the Comments field.
