This week we farewelled Ricky Hetherington who after 7 years with the NSW Touch Association has decided to leave us to take up a role with Basketball NSW. While sad to see Ricky leave, we understand the opportunity he has been presented and wish him all the very best with his new career challenge.
As a Game Development Officer, Ricky quickly became a valuable member of staff and one who was well-liked by all in the organisation. He has always attacked tasks assigned to him with the same passion that he shares for the game. Always dedicated to the task he has given of himself to get the job done. His passion for the game and enjoyment working with the staff and volunteers around him has always shown out.
He has always, especially at our major events, gone that extra step to ensure that our members and participants had a great customer experience and that is something we will all miss about the big fella.
While we are extremely sad to see Ricky leave our ranks, we also congratulate him on his new Competitions Coordinator role at Basketball NSW. We know he is not lost to the sport and this move will allow him to pursue his passion for coaching so you will still see Ricky at our events, just not in an orange shirt!
With Ricky’s departure, we are now on the hunt for a new Game Development Officer. While recently the role has been Sydney based, for the right candidate we will consider a regional placement. Applications close at 5pm on Friday, December 6th. Any inquiries can be made to the State Participation Manager, Rob Pidgeon at [email protected] or via 02 9558 9333.
