The 2015 Junior State Cup will see 333 teams converge on the Port Macquarie Regional Stadium and Tuffins Lane Sporting Complex on Friday 20th February-Sunday 22nd February. The event has yet again experienced an increase in team numbers from the 2014 version of the event which had 324 teams.
NSW Touch Football Sport Manager Daniel Rushworth is ecstatic with the teams nominated “We have grown year on year for the past few years in Port Macquarie and this is something our organisation is very proud of. We know this can only happen with the hard work of all the volunteers in each of the local associations pushing their junior members to sample this great event and follow their dreams at a State Championship competition.” He added “The Port Macquarie Hastings Council have been superb in assisting with the events growth in constantly updating the facility so that if like the event can continue to grow”
With team numbers growing constantly so does the requirement of referees and with close to 400 referees in attendance this will be the greatest number of referees attend an event ever.
The 2015 Junior State Cup will be the 21st edition and the third held in Port Macquarie.
