The NSW Touch Association (NSWTA) are pleased to announce the 2023 Country Championships will be held at Glen Willow Sporting Complex, Mudgee on Saturday 14th and
Sunday 15th October 2023.

NSWTA General Manager Dean Russell said it was a significant undertaking to bring the event to the region this year.

“The sport continues to have fantastic participation rates and the Western region is a popular hub for the game. This event is a warmup to the 2023 State Cup in December. The venue itself is of the highest quality and adds further prestige to the Country Championships event.”

Russell estimates that the total number of visitors to the popular tourist destination will be 1200, which includes participants, officials, and spectators. The event is expected to have
the economic impact of close to $1 million into the region.

The NSWTA will go to tender for the 2024 and 2025 Country Championships later this year with an announcement on venue expected by the 2023 State Cup.

A media opportunity will be held closer to the event where NSWTA leadership, Mid-Western Regional Council and Mudgee Touch Association will formally launch the 2023 Country
Championships.
