The excitement is already building as the NSWTA Country Championships are set to return to Mudgee, New
South Wales, on October 18-19, 2025. After the event’s resounding success in 2023, Mudgee and its iconic Glen
Willow Regional Stadium will once again play host to the best talent from across the state. The Championship,
which celebrates the very best of country Touch Football, will showcase our best regional affiliate teams and
talent, solidifying its position as one of the most prestigious events in the NSWTA calendar.
The 2023 Country Championships were a highlight in the history of the competition. Hosted for the first time in
Mudgee, the event saw increased participation, thrilling matches, and overwhelming community support. The
combination of world-class facilities, passionate “touchies”, and the high standard of play ensured that 2023
was a monumental year for the competition. Spectators and players alike enjoyed an atmosphere that was both
electric and family-friendly, with the picturesque surroundings of Mudgee only adding to the experience.
In 2024, the venue’s mystique and charm as a haven for Touch Football was showcased with the Junior Regionals
event, which showcased not only the young talent from across New South Wales but also the venue’s practical
application for major Touch Football tournaments.
The return of the NSWTA Country Championships to Glen Willow Regional Stadium is expected to build on this
momentum further. The venue’s state-of-the-art facilities, lauded in 2023 for their ability to accommodate our
participants and their families while offering outstanding player amenities, will once again play a central role in
making the event a resounding success.
Dean Russell, the NSWTA General Manager, expressed his excitement about the event returning to such a
significant venue:
“We are thrilled to return the NSWTA Country Championships to Mudgee in 2025. Glen Willow Regional Stadium
proved to be the perfect location in 2023, and it’s wonderful to see that the event’s success has resonated with
players, coaches, and referees alike. Mudgee’s passionate community and the quality of facilities make it one of
the standout venues for the competition. We look forward to another fantastic weekend of Touch Football and to
once again showcase the incredible talent from across the state.” The 2025 NSWTA Country Championships
promises to be another weekend of unforgettable Touch Football, with the best talent from regional New South
Wales coming together to compete at the highest level. For players, it’s a chance to test their skills against the
best.
The 2023 event set the bar high, and with Mudgee welcoming the championships back in 2025, it’s safe to
say that the NSWTA Country Championships will continue to be a key highlight in the Touch Football calendar for
years to come.
