The New South Wales Touch Association is pleased to announce that the venues for the next four years of the NSW Touch Junior Regionals have been confirmed.

The 2024 and 2025 events have been awarded to Mid Western Council to be played at the Glen Willow Sporting Complex, Mudgee.

The 2026 and 2027 events have been awarded to the Central Coast Council to return to the Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex, Tuggerah.

With both venues locked in for the next four years planning for this prestigious Junior pathway event can commence immediately for the NSWTA and its Regions.

NSWTA General Manager was pleased with the outcome. “Both venues will provide an excellent experience for our next-generation state players and provide facilities and playing surfaces worthy of this elite junior pathway program.

Our past experiences with the event at Tuggerah have highlighted the ease of delivery and a supreme playing surface that this level of competition should expect. Likewise, our recent Country Championships at Dubbo received rave reviews from participants and will showcase the Junior Regionals in a way not seen before.” stated Russell.

Both tenders were compelling in a tough field and met key criteria that have allowed the NSWTA to be able to provide our participants with quality venues and exceptional experiences.

Mudgee Mayor the Hon Des Kennedy was delighted with the announcement.

“I am thrilled that Council has successfully secured the NSW Junior Regionals Touch Football for the next two years at Glen Willow Stadium. This commitment reflects Mudgee’s standing as a premier destination and highlights the Glen Willow facility as one of the best venues for hosting tournaments like this.

It’s a testament to our community’s passion for sports and our dedication to providing top-notch facilities. We look forward to welcoming participants, supporters, and spectators to experience the excitement of junior touch football in the Mudgee Region.”

Council and Mudgee Touch Associations will work with the NSW Touch Association and the local community to provide an elite-level sporting event.

Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said the Council is delighted the globally recognised Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex in Tuggerah has been selected to host the Junior Regional Touch Championships event.

“This venue was purpose-built to host big events such as this, evidenced in hosting the 51st Aboriginal Rugby League Annual Carnival (the Koori Knockout) in October, as well as being the official training base camp for the FIFA Women’s World Cup German team in August.  Equally important however is that this venue is available for grassroots community events – providing a venue and facilities for future athletes in all codes.

“We look forward to welcoming the Junior Regional Touch Championships event back to the Coast and working with the NSW Touch Association and the competitors in the lead to, and during the championships in April 2026 and then again in April 2027.”

Both Councils and Touch Associations will work with the NSW Touch Association and the local community to provide an elite-level sporting event.
